Company History

1969

Nemo was founded in 1969 in Sarsina, in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna.
Initially it manufactured and sold small marine accessories for sailboats, then it became mostly a workshop and factory for Comar in Forlì, whose owners were also shareholders in Nemo.

Thanks to Comar, a leader in the sailing world, Nemo acquired the best and most sophisticated technologies for building deck accessories, including masts, which it created a specific department for and carried out special studies aimed at optimising quality and costs.

Mr Renzo Zavatta, majority shareholder of Comar at the time and an experienced regatta sailor, had a crucial role in this: his advice and teachings, combined with a large number of sea trials, allowed Nemo to gain the necessary expertise to enlarge its product range and hence, its number of customers worldwide.

1993

In 1993, Nemo was purchased by the Magalotti and Fiuzzi families and transferred to a new 5000 sqm facility in Mercato Saraceno, in the province of Forlì-Cesena, one of the most dynamic shipyard districts in Italy.

Nemo widened its sales network and increased its production of accessories for motor boats. It became a supplier to prestigious groups such as Ferretti, Azimut, Beneteau, Jeanneau and Fiart.

2005

In 2005, the company was purchased entirely by the Magalotti family, whose policy was to increase production and marketing and design even more innovative products. The new concepts of electronics were combined with mechanics to enhance the features of each product, enabling the company to win the trust of other prestigious shipyards worldwide.

2008

In 2008, Nemo built a new 5200 sqm production plant, next to the existing one, to house all its warehouses and increased production of a wide range of portlights, hatches and doors for mega-yachts.

This phase marked the beginning of a profitable cooperation with important shipyards such as Astondoa, Azimut, Baglietto, Bavaria, Beneteau, Benetti, Bugari Yachts, Couach, Ferretti, Montecarlo Yachts, Perini Navi, San Lorenzo, Sundeck Yacht, Sunseeker, and Tankoa, which contributed to the company’s further growth.

All the staff at Nemo put their hearts into their work, as people from Romagna always do, to ensure total customer satisfaction and achieve its goals that will take the company to the top of the nautical sector.
